ROCKET SCIENCE - Welcome Aboard the 3C10 (Eat Sleep - 06/10/03)

Review by Dawn

Originally released in their native Australia back in 2000, Rocket Science follow up their Contact High album by making their debut LP available in the UK too.

Predominantly instrumental, with Roman Tucker's sparse vocals reminiscent of The Hives' Howlin' Pelle, Welcome Aboard the 3C10 demonstrates the same creativity as the band's UK album, with its insistent, soaring keyboards and infuriatingly catchy retro guitar riffs best showcased on opening two tracks Burn In Hell and Six Foot 4.

Having always given the impression of being a little less than sane, song titles which would be more at home in the equation pages of a school maths textbook only serve to confirm such thoughts, but don't let their apparent strangeness put you off; climb aboard and experience the musical madness for yourself.
