International Trust | CD review | August 2008

INTERNATIONAL TRUST -  Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (Stunted Records – 18/08/08)

Review by Dawn

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is a raucous slice of spiky power pop from Leeds-based five piece International Trust who are currently kicking up a fuss among the music press.

The lead track has an infectious synth intro akin to early We Start Fires and a sense of fun to bring an instant smile to your face. They do falter slightly with less melodic and more shouty second track There’s No I In International Trust Vocals. This reviewer, however, is a sucker for insanely catchy synth melodies and, as such, third track Bruce Lee makes sure the CD ends on a high – all resonating rhythms, softer vocals and "this is my position, the height of my ambition, I admit I’m on a mission" rhymes fitting perfectly alongside the aforementioned electronic euphoria.

Only one question remains: Can they roll their "r"s that impressively when they perform live?
